Els activistes van plantar el 7 d'abril banderes escoceses (The Saltire) i amb el lleó de la monarquia escocesa a diferents ponts de l'autopista M8 en ple cap de setmana. L'acció dels Bridges for Indy ha estat seguida per una commemoració, a la pròpia Arbroath, dels 698 de la declaració d'Arbroath per la que Escòcia es va declarar independent.
