Two thousand people march for the Basque Republic and against the Spanish colonialism in Iruñea

The origin of the protest is the prosecution of 12 young people in the National Court for having organized an act of denunciation and anti-colonialism on October 12. On that day, figures of the current Spanish king and Christopher Columbus were placed and then shot down with a rope. When he fell, the dolls lost their heads. They are being prosecuted for a crime against the crown.

Under the motto "It will fall!" (It will fall), Some 2,000 people have left for Pamplona denouncing the process opened in the National Court for the theatricalization of the demolition of the statues of Columbus and the Spanish monarch on 12 October. Kizkitza Gil de San Vicente gave a speech in Basque and Spanish in which he stated that “to denounce the monarchy is to denounce that Spanish supremacist system, which sanctifies the unity of Spain and represses, as we know and know, any social transformation and deepening of democracy. ”.

He also stated that "real crime, our original sin, is our determination to overthrow and replace the regime itself, to build a new order of things, to build democracy and social justice in all the territories of the Basque Country, to overcome the indivisible unity of the Spanish kingdom and to promote a process of sovereignty in the cities and places of Navarre and the other Basque territories that look to the future ”.
