Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) became publicly known during the summer of 2000. It is allegedly lead by the exiled baloch Hyrbyair Marri. On 2nd February 2022, 9 militants and 12 soldiers were killed at Panjgur and Nushki districts of Pakistan's Balochistan province after forces responded to their attack. The Balochistan Liberation Army, claimed to have killed more than 100 soldiers at two military camps, claims rejected by Pakistan government. The BLA elite Corps is called Majeed Brigade. The Majeed Brigade was founded in 2011 and is an elite unit within the BLA, with a modus operandi that regularly features suicide attacks as the Pakistan Stock Exchange building in Karachi (29.06.2020).

Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) was founded by Jumma Khan in 1964, the group's insurgency was defeated in both Pakistan and Iran and the group re-emerged in 2004. It is lead by the dOCTOR Allah Nazar Baloch from Baloch Student Organisation-Azad (BSO-Azad) who heads the movement inside Balochistan.

Balochistan Nationalist Army (BNA) was formed on January 11th, 2022, out of a merger of the Baloch Republican Army (BRA), and the United Baloch Army (UBA). BRA and UBA also announced their dissolution following the establishment of Baloch Nationalist Army. The BRA was fomed in 2006 and was the militant wing of Baloch Republican militant wing of Baloch Republican Party lead by the exiled activist Brahumdagh Bugti who lives in Switzerland. Meanwhile UBA was formed in 2013 and was led by Mehran Marri who is living in UK. It was created as a result of an intrafamilial dispute between Mehran and his brother Hyrbyair Marri (BLA). It was stated that: “The only spokespersons for the BNA, in the media will be Mureed Baloch, while the official channel of the organisation will be called ‘Baask’ whereas, BNA will continue to be part of umbrella organisation Baloch Raji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS) in continuation of BRA,”

United Baloch Army (Mazar Baloch) is a UBA faction who did not join the BNA. In October 2021, UBA’s spokesperson Mazar Baloch said that their high command has annulled Mr. Bangulazi’s membership for not following through the organisational values. Hence Mazar Baloch is the organisation’s sole spokesperson.

Baloch Raaji-Aajoi-Sangar (BRAS) is an umbrella group of Baloch nationalists, which comprises of the BLA, the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), the Baloch Republican Guard, as well as the Baloch Republic Army. BRAS and its affiliates are generally pro-independence for the Balochistan region; they regard both Pakistan and China as threats. While the groups typically work separately to achieve their aims, they have been known to band together to execute attacks. It was launched in November 2018.
