Cornish nationalists held a commemoration to remember Thomas Flamank who in 1497 stood up for Kernow's independence

Cornish nationalists held in Bodmin a commemoration to remember Thomas Flamank who alongside Michael AnGof in 1497 stood up for Kernow. The people gathered on June 27th at the Celtic Cross in Higher Bore St where a small commemoration took place. Cllr Mike Barbary lays a wreath on behalf of Bodmin Town Council at the Thomas Flamank commemoration in Bodmin. Paul from Mebyon Kernow West Cornwall branch kindly laid a wreath in Bodmin, as well as the Cornish National Party. The CNP came about from those who left MK in 1975, today there is respect between both groups and both remember Thomas Flamank and Michael AnGof who stood up for Kernow back in 1497. Bard Keith Truscott was Master of Ceremonies at the Thomas Flamank commemoration in Bodmin on 27th June where singing of Cornwall Forever, Hail to the Homeland, Bro Goth and Trelawney took place. Prayers read by Ann Kerridge. Richard and Stephanie from Bodmin old Cornwall Society laid a wreath on behalf of the townfolk at the Town Wall where the Thomas Flamank plaque is situated. "Speak the truth and only then can you be free of your chains".
