On Sunday, February 20, 2022, the great state commemoration ceremony of Andreas Hofer took place in Meran, from 3 pm.. Rifle companies and delegations from all over Tyrol gathered from 2.30 pm in front of the Andreas Hofer monument to set up their positions, where the Liturgy of the Word was celebrated with the provincial priest at 3 pm P. Christoph Waldner. The metal musicians of the Tscherms band helped shape this musically. The salutes were fired by the Meran Rifle Company's honorary formation. Then Honorary Commander Elmar Thaler delivered the commemorative speech. Deserving members are honored before the heroes are honored with a wreath-laying ceremony. On the occasion of Andreas Hofer's commemoration ceremonies, the South Tyrolean Shooting Federation called on the people to wave Tyrolean flags in towns and villages across the country.
