SEACHDAIN BHOGAIDH : Summer Gaelic Immersion Week - 2nd - 6th June 2025
Ceòlas are delighted to announce a new Gaelic Immersion week this summer in South Uist! This new week will feature 2x 1.5hr classes and an afternoon activity each day, with extra evening events throughout the week as well. Classes will be available at the following levels:
Beginners – John Joe MacNeil
Post-Beginners – Màiri MacRitchie
Intermediate – Catriona Black
Advanced – Catrìona MacIntyre
Reading & Writing Skills for Advanced learners/Fluent Speakers – Fr. Ross Crichton
Ceòlas Gaelic classes and courses give you the opportunity to learn Gaelic as spoken in the islands, from fluent local and native-speaking tutors. We aim to help you gain confidence in speaking and using Gaelic, as well as connect with the Gaelic community, language and culture in Uist. With the help of local native tutors and community members, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Gaelic, using the language each day in a range of every-day contexts in South Uist, one of the strongest Gaelic-speaking areas in Scotland.
This brand new week is being introduced at a trial rate of £250 / £200 for Uist residents for the full week’s tuition and activities.
We also welcome bookings and enquiries from organisations/businesses looking to offer CPD to their staff – this is the perfect immersive CPD opportunity.
