More than 300 people participate in the Second Congress of the Guaraní Language

Last Saturday June 4th the Second Congress of the Guaraní Language "Normalizing the use of the Guaraní language" was held, organized by the Academy of the Guaraní Language within the framework of the International Book Fair - FIL Asunción 2022. The event had a successful call where more than 300 people participated.

The academic activity was carried out with the support of the Language Policy Secretariat (SPL), the National University of Asunción (UNA), the National Institute of Higher Education (Inaes), the Ateneo de Lengua y Cultura Guaraní and the Institute of Guaraní Linguistics. of Paraguay (Idelguap). During the congress, several panelists, Guaraní language experts and authorities from institutions related to the language, addressed two topics: "The Guaraní language in the field of educational transformation" and "Normalization of the use of the Guaraní language from the Academy of the Guarani language.

Within the framework of the Guaraní normalization work undertaken by the ALG, the basic guidelines for writing the Guaraní language were presented; the corrected and enlarged version of the Dictionary of the Guaraní Language of Paraguay; the second magazine of the academy, and the third edition of Grammar Guarani. From the SPL, the general director of Linguistic Planning, Celia Godoy, participated in the congress, in addition to the technician of said direction, Christian Godoy.
