SPLM-N rebels repel attack in Sudan; kill 13 government troops

Combatants of the Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement North reportedly repelled an offensive by Sudanese government troops on areas under their control near El Firshay in South Kordofan on Tuesday 8th March.

In a statement on Wednesday morning, SPLM N military spokesman Arnu Ngutulu Lodi reported that the rebels, Under direct command of Lt. Col Aboud Ismail El Karib and overall command of Brig. Gen. Daoud Ashaya El Foul, halted a large scale attack on rebel held areas near the El Firshay garrison.
Three rebel fighters were killed and three others wounded.
On Saturday, Lodi reported that the SPLM N dispersed a number of military reconnaissance troops northwest of Delling in northern South Kordofan.
